I have a 99Ranger with 4 wheel drive problems. I bought the truck used and was told the transfer case motor was shot. The motor was replaced with a brand new one, we have swapped both the dashboard switch and the GEM with known good ones. The only thing left (I think) is the PVH solenoid, which we haven't swapped as we have been unable to find one other than a stealership. We did something that caused it to shift into 4 wheel high, but then could not get it out. Pulled the hubs--they looked fine--unlocked them manually and put them back on, however the transfer case is still in 4 wheel. The 4 wheel indicators on my dash are flashing a "six" code. Checking voltage on the PVH solenoid there is continous voltage on the center pin and there is vacuum to the solenoid but nothin out. The other two pins are supposedly lock/unlock grounds. Does the ground come through GEM? Bad solenoid?
