Maybe I/we could talk one of the ford Tech's out of a copy of the schematics
for it or even a flow chart or the process. Some one has to have a copy
because the guys on Ebay are fixing them.
Same issue for me. i just now only started to see it on mine. i've even done tat self-test and force clearing the error codes from the EATC. Powers upon re-start. i'm gonna give tat headlight trick a try when next time it does tat.
this has happened twice in the space of 2 weeks, and i noticed it started to happen after i started using the scangauge. some days i leave it plugged in overnight and all thru the day. normally, i turn off the ac before i shut the vehicle down. force of habit. well, on the 2nd time tat it died, i had just fired up the car, then as i pressed on the buttong to turn on ac, i head a distinct "click", and it didnt come on.
shut down car, pull out key, waited a couple of minutes, then turned on car, saw external temp, then i knew tat ac was working again. turned on ac and then i got out the car, got down on my knees and thanked the lord, cos it was over 95 degrees tat day. i scalded my knees though.
One of the big reasons I think it is a poor solder joint
I had the dash out to change some lamps in the cluster
and it started doing it and the other time was when I installed
the new stereo head unit in the dash. I did take it out again
because I goofed up the shift position indicator and while I was
in there I took the EACT out and had a look at it. Really poor
solder joints. Bad to the point that I would reject any item that
looked that bad.
I have an 06 f250 6.0 Lariot 4x4. Yesterday the AC climate control would not shut off when I turn off the key. It will if I hit the off button. I've fully charged the batterys and disconnected them to do a reset. I also did the on off head light trick but with no luck. Can anyone help cuz I'm at a loss.
Man, and here I thought I was the only one who was crazy lol. Im glad to see its not just me.. Mine only messes up once in a blue moon, but it only seems to pick the hottest days to do it!!!
So I am not crazy, some one else has had this happen also. Mine has died about 4 times since truck was new and have never found the cause. I have just shut truck off then restarted and it's worked every time, it's never died while driving ,just on start up. I would love to hear if there's a reason for it or just electronic hiccup.
Mine has done the same thing about 4 or 5 times since I bought the truck new. I just shut it off, wait about 30 seconds, and start it again. Only one time did it not work and I had to wait several minutes before she came back on. It has a short somewhere, but after reading you guys posts, they all seem to be about the same and no real repair process.
Man it is good to know I am not the only one with a Gremlin working behind my dash! Mine has been doing it every few months for the past two or three years and normally comes back after restarting my truck. Guess I will wait till it goes out for good and buy a new one. Yay me....
This is all really strange that so many of us have had the "gremlin" no rhyme or reason just every now and then. I wonder if the infected trucks had the climate control all built by the same sub standard employee or inferior parts???????
Mine is a 2006 also and just did it for the first time. The only thing is I have done new was plugged in to the OBD2 port for gauges on my Dashboss. I think Snuggyworm might be on to something. How many of you guys - girls have it happen when something is plugged in to the OBD2 port?
