AC died, then came back to life?

On a trip from Galveston to College Station I stopped in Navasota to by some tractor parts. Came out of the New Holland dealership and started up the 06 F350. No AC, no fan, no AC display. None of the AC controls worked. Every thing else seemed to be normal. It was a balmy 78 F here today. Drove on to College Station with the windows down. Stopped at Lowes to by more stuff. You can never have enough stuff. Got back in the truck and started her up. AC, fan, AC display all back up and running. Made several more stops to buy more stuff. Couldn't find a 36mm socket though. The problem never re-occurred. Any thoughts?

That's happened to me a few times. It's probably the Electronic Automatic Temperature Control module failing to respond. There's a couple of threads about it floating around somewhere in here...flipping the headlights on and off a couple of times usually cures the problem.

EATC (Electronic Automatic Temperature Control) module...sometimes they get lazy. Turn it off and then back on...sometimes restart the truck and it wakes up. Lariat and King Ranch trucks are afflicted with this. I don't know for sure, but if this module is on the CAN bus, it might be waiting on traffic on the bus...or something similar. Maybe one of the techs around here can say for sure.

Turning the headlight switch off then on resets it for me also, try that if it happens again. Love the logo Kirk, my son is an Aggie alum.
