Tachometer Problem
Hey Folks,
I need some help please on finding a solution to my problem. I have a 1992 F150 5.0L with a E4OD transmission. The problem that I'm having is with the "Tachometer."
The tachometer works fine when I drive the vehicle normal. If I decide to drive the vehicle more aggressive the tachometer needle does not register correctly.
As an example, the RPM needle operates normally at first but when the tachometer needle reaches around 3,000 RPM it starts to act all screwed up by going in the opposite direction even though the engine is increasing in RPM's. It should be registering 4,000 RPM when it reads 2,000 RPM and 5,000 RPM when it reads 1,000 RPM ect...
Any advice would be appreciated, thanks for your time.

Seems like my gauge is going bad.
I'm curious if a Lightning Instrument cluster could be swapped in, "Plug and Play." With out any re-wiring. Any one have experience swapping out instrument clusters that knows the answer to that?
