The delay comes from the stepper motor in the gauge more than the sender. I just switched over to a EV2 from a mechanical boost gauge. The movement is a little more "choppy" on the electric gauge where the mechanical was smooth. I don't think of it as an issue and all the other improvements out weigh that. After you see it for a bit, you will get used to it and really you won't notice it after a week or so.
