Carb leakdown problem
1985 YFB feedback. I just rebuilt this carb as part of a semi restoration project. Over night the float bowl empties out. I can see the intake manifold is damp right under the carb and it appears there is fuel in the crankcase. I have double checked all screws and the float adjustment.The overall condition of the carb after initial cleaning looked good (it even had the tag). Any thoughts as to what I have done wrong or overlooked would be greatly appreciated. thanks

It sounds like the air bleed in the idle circuit is plugged, if you meant that the inside of the intake was damp. If it's the outside, could be a porous casting, scratch on a mating surface, a misaligned gasket, etc.

problem solved. from now on i will check the "L" shaped cardboard float gauge that comes in carb kits with a micrometer and caliper before adjusting floats. thanks for the replies!
