Nice picture. I really need to make it out to the west. Ive pretty much stayed on the east coast my whole life. Ive never driven west of NY. I flew to LA once, but how much does zipping over at 400mph get for 'viewing the scenery'?
Yep, the Rockies are practically in my back yard here in Calgary.
They're nice to look at alright, but they're also the reason why it's been snowing here since Friday and it isn't supposed to stop for another 3 days and 8-12".

Yeah I guess so. It sucks when it 24C (80F) back home on the bald prairie though. Of course when they're suffering through weeks of -30C temps it usually pretty mild here, so there is definately a trade off there.
Truth is it's nice being so close to the Rockies (especially the foothills), some of the best dirt biking, snowmobiling, hiking, skiing, and fly fishing in the world is within an hour or two of my house. But, being a prairie boy, I don't take advantage of it nearly enough.
