MSOffice new formats
Well, they're really not all that new. Does anybody have an opinion about the MSOffice 'x' formats (e.g. docx and xlsx)?
I have pretty much avoided them to keep things compatible with one of my computes. However, Excel has been acting up on a couple of spreadsheets lately. Seems to run slowly at times. Went better after I redid things with xlsx.
Comments appreciated,
hj
As far as compatibility Microsoft has a free file converter to use on older office installations to allow it to read the new format..
Open a Word 2007 document in an earlier version of Word - Word - Office.com
I hate the new Windows 7----don't even start the computer that has it---still running XP Pro here!
Newer versions of Office have the ability to save documents in older formats for older versions of Office to open with no problem.
I use Office 2007 quite often, but I'm not a big fan of Office 2010 - that "bar" thing they did up at the top is a bit goofy...
