@Caleb, I got an aunt that lives in Alabaster, heard of John and Nell Bertschinger? My uncle John owned a security alarm business, then retired from BellSouth.
Haven't heard of them...but if you get down that way, let me know...I'll bring the ole truck up...
Alright, I might make a trip either this summer or one of the Holidays. But back to the shifter, the kind you have, I haven't came up with a lock out for it... If I make a shifter, I'll try my idea. I'll do that tomorrow.
Umm.... I tried to upload the photos to my album and Hughes Net sucks. I don't know how to upload them to the thread... Here's the link to my Facebook Pic Facebook

copy and paste.
The easiest way to upload to the forum...add your pics to something like photobucket, select the ones you want to upload/post, copy the image code...usually just click in the img box and it automatically copies it, them post/paste the code into your comment...you won't see the pic until you hit reply, then it will post it for you...
I had a spur of the moment purchase the other day. I went to O'Reilly 's looking at the price of a mr. Gasket floor shifter like yours and the guy offered me a B&M z gate for $40 without the brackets, cable included, no base. I can make the brackets and base outta some metal. I figured I'll do that instead of making a whole shifter. but when I get my truck back together I'll make my own.
I honestly don't know if it is a Mr. Gasket Shifter or not...it came in the truck when I bought it...Previous owner had done it...but I love it...it works perfect...would like to have the added safety of the reverse lockout...but it's making doing for now...
I gotta make a c6 bracket for my z gate. I found a way around flipping the internal linkage, drill a hole below the column shift hole on the transmission shift lever and run the cable to the underside of it.
