We're going to Lake Lahontan for a few hours today & then later, I have to work at ThunderBowl Speedway in MoundHouse. Going to be a late night.
Dennis - What time will you be delivering my car? LOL! That's a beautiful ride! Now that I'm done drooling, I think I need a cigarette. Oh... can you wash my 4runner next please? I need it clean for tonight.
Jim - That is super news! I'm glad to hear it. Told you to keep looking up.
Dennis - Very nice! Why was the car so dusty? Was it stored for a long time or something? My wife LOVEEES Mustangs, especially around that era. I do have to admit that it is a beautiful car and I love the 351 in it. Is it a Windsor or a Cleveland? Thanks for the pics!
Hey Jim, I am happy for you amigo. I hope that situation turns out to be really good for you!
Nice Mustang Dennis! I'm always online looking at Mustangs but it's a fantasy. (They are terrible winter cars in the ice and snow.) But I sure admire yours.

Bruce, it not very go in bad weather, but I only take her out occasionally!
Yes, she was stored for 8 years!
Mat it's a windsor, with 10.5 pistons, 3/4 cam, big 2.2 valves, aluminum heads, the works, she dyno's at 450 hp @ 2800 gvw . They say she's a

Very nice indeed! That will definitely get you up to the grocery store and back in a hurry! My 69 Chevelle ran high 10's. Damn I miss that car! Looked like total crap compared to your gorgeous 'Stang, but she was a runner.
That is one sweet Mustang. Happy Sunday Nevada FTE! Hope everyone has a blessed day! I just noticed in my last post that it says Nighteyez is a splendid one to behold several times at the very beginning. I have no clue how that happened. All I did was copy and paste that from the NorCal chapter so I would not have to type the same info twice. And it puts that. Interesting.
Anyway i am doing good here, I am guessing I will find out more about the job tomorrow at my appointment. I can't wait! I'll keep you all informed
Yup, it was tough getting all that metal movin'! I dropped in a built 454 (had a 350 in it originally), had 4.10s out back, built up a TH350 to run the track with and I was running right around 425-435 horse or so. That was estimated as I never had it actually dynoed. I was upset because I wanted to get the "magical" 1 HP per CI numbers of at least 454 HP, but missed it. LOL I was planning on changing to aluminum heads and that would have hit that mark for sure, but ended up selling the car before I could get the cash to change out the heads.
Good Sunday mornin to my FTE family, may you have the best and safest week ever!!!
Jim, I'm soooo glad you found a workable situation to resolve your issue. It sounds like a good start for you, now keep your eyes open for improvement ... it will happen!!! As for the multiple comments on your last post .... "Divine intervention" ... nuff said !!!
Joe, have a safe flight and a good week where ever your headed!!!
Donna, it sounds you have totally filled your "dance card" for this weekend, good job ... enjoy!!!
It sure seems like a lot of "improving luck" is making the rounds among'st our group, I not only wish it to continue, but improves 10 fold !!!
Dave

Howdy Mat, yeah I think those performance heads from edelbrock were $1200, back then, I can imagine today! 10's is fast in anyone's book.
Way to Go
I hope everyone had a great weekend & that today started out good.
Saturday was busy for me. Lake Lahontan for 2 1/2 hrs, then rush to get ready for ThunderBowl Speedway & be there by 4:30. It didn't get over until 9pm, so I was all tuckered out by the time I drove home. LOL! Then Sunday, we went back out to the lake for like 8 hrs! We got so burned! I got the least of it, but Karl, Kaedon & Jimmy are lobsters! Poor Jimmy is fair skinned anyway, so from his chest to the top of his head (literally) is really bad & sore! Kaedon's shoulders & legs got the worst of it, although she got it all over. And Karl...he's out of summer school today because of his sunburn! His back, shoulders, & mainly the tops of his feet! He can barely walk! Poor lil' guy! Both of them are extremely tender to the touch - almost to the point of tears! What's even worse...we all had sunscreen 50 on & still got burnt! I went out lastnight at 9 pm & bought Noxema, Solarcaine, & Aloe just so everyone could relax & get some sleep. I'll have to post some pics.
On a different note... We met Michelle (yellow bandana) out at the lake!
She brought their jet boat & some friends over from the Fallon side (Beach 10) all the way over to the Silver Springs side (Beach 10). It took them about 20 minutes w/ a couple stops in between. It doesn't take long when you have a fast boat! She was estimating that it would probably take them 10 minutes to get back to the Fallon side. Everyone at our beach was drooling over the boat. We're hoping to have another GTG again soon. Hmm!...Maybe a BBQ on the 4th of July??
