Mat, I know what you mean about everything happening for a reason, I am currently living my bronco due to a roommate moving out and me not being able to cover the extra rent. So now I am dealing with the VA, HUD, and the local homeless shelter trying to get into a subsidized apartment. However, it seems the left hand does not know what the right hand is doing. I have been told everything from you'll be in a place within a week, to it takes several years to get approved. Needless to say my stress level is rising and falling with each "new" story. I know this is happening for a reason, and one of those reasons is to get me to finally use the VA benefits I earned so many years ago, but the living in my truck part, I wish I could stop now.
Good Hump Day FTE gang, with a 106* day predicted, the shine part of "rise & shine" will be easy ... it's the rise part that's tough !!!
JIM, All I can say is "been there done that" on a personal level, and survived to know things will change !!! I know personally that the Lord protects us and dumb animals ... and fate or luck is also in play. Keep your eyes, ears, and mind open for those sneaky breaks that are headed your way !!! Dave
Jim - Things will come around. I know it truly doesn't seem so at the moment, but it will. You are in my prayers and thoughts!
Bruce - Isn't that the truth...again, your words work miracles. LOL My stepson needed a pencil sharpener to do his homework this morning while at his grandmother's, so before I took him over there, I went into the garage to try and search the box I thought I might have one in. While I was doing that and bent over the box (which I shouldn't have been doing with my back all screwed up, but I wanted to make him happy), I felt my friggin back "pop"! It scared the hell out of me and I was really afraid I wouldn't be able to stand back up/straighten up considering everything that has been going on with me. Well, come to find out, it must have put things back in place. Don't get me wrong, my back is sore from that happening and it will probably swell up a bit and hurt tonight, but I immediately put heat on it. However, the sharp pains are gone and it feels MUCH better than it has been in weeks. Again, things happen for a reason, even when we don't understand why.
Now I just have to pray that's actually what happened and that something bad didn't happen and this is only temporary relief. LOL
Michelle - That's exactly why I got rid of my BB. I could never do anything on it, it always locked up and when I actually did want an app for it, no one ever made one for it. So, I finally said screw it, bit the bullet and bought an iPhone when the 4S came out. I found out my phone plan amount stayed the same with the iPhone as when I had my BB, so it didn't make a difference and the iPhone is SOOOOO much better than my BB was. It was worth dropping my BB. I was soooo ticked at it, I actually ran it over with my truck after I got my iPhone in my hand and working. Yes, it did make me feel better.
Thanks all for the well wishes. I know things will get better eventually, I just hate going through this while it is happening. There is a light at the end of the tunnel it seems. I spoke with a person at the VA hospital today who is in charge of placing homeless vets in transitional housing. He told me he might be able to place me in one as early as Friday. He wants me to call him tomorrow morning to make sure. I am going to pray it happens so I don't have to spend the weekend in the bronco.
I agree Bruce, homeless and vet does not belong in the same sentence.
