97 F250 Lug Pattern?

Does anyone know what the lug pattern of a 97 ford f250 3/4 ton truck. It 8 lug but im not sure exactly what. Ive seen ads for wheels sayi9ng 8x170mm and etc. Does anyone have a idea of the inch and milimeter size pattern. I am looking to convert my truck to a duallie for better payload but need help with this issue before I buy wheels that wont fit my truck.

your truck does not have the metric bolt pattern. You have the 8x6.5" spacing. DO NOT buy metric spaced rims, they will not fit on your truck

This is correct. 97-older F250's use this pattern. Newer trucks are metric.

8x6.5 American
8x165.1 Metric equivalent
P.S. in 97 there was a light duty 7 lug F250.

You might as well save your money if you are looking to carry more weight. All you are gaining is stanility from the wider track, as your current axle capacity is set as per your saftey compliance sticker in your door jam area.

Changing wheel and / or rims has no effect on the axle capacity, and it can actually go down if you have to run spacers to fit the duallies and no longer have the weight centered over the wheel bearings, as the factory has it set up on both the SRW and DRW axles.

Just food for thought.....

Thanks for clearing that up for me as well. I have one of the 97 models that is still the OBS model & didn't change til 98 unlike the F150, every time I order parts someone tells me it doesn't have a 5.8 in it if it's a 97, etc.
First time here, just signed on, thanks.

Almost correct. There was no ‘98 model year HD F-250/350. That is why most people tell the parts monkey that they have a ‘96 F-250/350.

yup. easiest way to get the correct parts for your 97 250 HD pickup is to ask for parts for a 96 F250 HD with 5.8 engine.

True, for most things -- UNLESS it is one of those dratted build-date specific parts! I had a hell of a time getting the right power steering hose for my previous '97 F-250HD. It was NOT the same as '96! IIRC, there was a before/after February '97 build date change. There was another thing that was date-related, but I can't remember what it was...

or you could ask for parts for a 97 F-350 for everything except steering linkage and front axle parts, but asking for 96 F250 is just as good most of the time.
there are the oddball parts you mentioned though.
