Flowmaster 40 series vs. dynomax ultraflo

I have a flowmaster but Im looking to change my muffler to maybe something more mellow and flows better. I have read a lot that flowmaster don't flow very good but they sound great I can't complain with that. But I have a cutout and that plenty loud. Has one ever used the ultra flows?

The engine is a mildly built inline six

The sound should be a bit quieter and a lot more flow as well.

Is there a different in sound between the welded and stainless?

And is it true that once the muffler "breaks in" the tone changes?

Stainless will be a bit quieter and a little different tone as well.
The tone will change over time as well, into a great sound smooth muffler.

The "bestest" thing that sets you apart is that you're not "Flow-*******"!

Personally i like flowmasters products. I ran a flowmaster 50 series behind my 351w for the last 2 years, and my uncle had it on his truck behind his 460 for 10 years prior to me getting it. In wisconsin a 12 year old muffler is hard to come by that still sounds like the day it was 1st welded onto a truck. Its even harder to find one thats in such good shape that you can reuse it on another truck when you opt for dual exhaust on the truck its currently on. The only complaint i have about flowmaster is thier prices. Although no other name brand company really has a reasonably priced product anymore.

There's nothing wrong with flowmasters or people wouldn't buy them. What annoys me the most is when people jump on the "straight through" bandwagon and think a muffler like magnaflow is gonna make ya 50 more horsepower than a flowmaster cause it "flows better", but it won't.

Flowmaster is just as good as any straight through muffler brand out there, and on top of it it's American Made so you deserve a nice kick in the *** if you say it's s***.

In the end it's all about what sound you're looking for.
