6.0 No start..... HELP!
, but I have no time right now to deal with it anymore. So I bit the bitter bullet and had them do the work. Story? The stealership called me today and said they did the buzz test with my old ficm with no results. They put in a test ficm and said everything buzzed correctly. The answer? "You need a new ficm. That'll be $735 please, and we'll have you up and running". I mentioned I may just have the ficm repaired because that was too much on top of the $360 to "troubleshoot" my problem. We went back and forth, the manager finally said they would get me a new ficm for $600 and include the labor in the $360 (that sure was nice of them huh?). After much thought it was worth the extra money at this point to not have to tow it back home, pull the ficm, ship it,wait to get it back and then reinstall it.
On a positive note I will say this... I believe my turbo spools faster, my truck idles so smooth now at a stop light you wouldn't know it was running if you couldn't hear it running and I may be crazy but I would swear it's shifting smoother as well. Oh yeah, I also got a wash and vacuum too!
Thank you all for your help and input along the way. I wish I could have seen this through to the end myself but I was out of time and really needed my truck.
Feel free to ask questions and I will do my best to answer.
