I drive an 06 e250 with 99k on it for work and when I am driving around and the engine gets under any strain the air shuts off and when the engine returns to normal the air comes back on. I have filled and charged the freon cause I was told maybe it was low, no change.Hope someone has an idea of what I can do to fix this.
You have issues with the vacuum control system---possibly a leaking servo somewhere, cracked hose or any number of other things. Your worst case scenario is the reservoir having developed a leak---they're very difficult to replace, or so I've heard.
Look for a heater control system vacuum diagram and start checking it out--doesn't sound to bad at all.
It is reverting to the defrost and the floor vents so I will check my charge again and see if that is my problem. I spent an hour one day looking for a vacuum leak and could not find one anywhere. Thanx for the info as it is hot as hell here in TN. and it shuts down constantly.
