The blower on my front A/C quit the other day. I was driving and I stopped at the store for 10 minutes and when i restarted, the compressor engaged but the blower was dead. I have verified that the blower motor itself is ok. I suspect the power isn't making to the motor from the control on the dash. Is there any other relay i should be aware of? How do i test the resistor? What else to check?
From looking at the electrical schematic, it appears the power flows to the A/C slide switch, then to the blower, then to the resistor and fan switch. It appears no power it going to the blower on mine. I checked the fuse. Any other ideas other than a defective A/C slide switch? If the slide switch is the problem, it is very odd because i wasn't operating the switch at the time it failed.
i would get out the old test light and determine if you have power to the blower switch, then trace your problem up or down from there until you find the offensive component.
on second thought, wiggle the ignition switch a bit. i used to have a truck whose turn signals wouldn't work unless you wiggled the switch a little after starting (only sometimes) because the switch was wearing out. we know that the blower is switched by the ignition, so thats a place to start
