I just removed, disassembled, cleaned and reinstalled injectors on my 86 6.9. While the pump doesn't have to be removed, be very gentle when moving injector lines off the top of the injector - you definitely wouldn't want to put a kink in your injector lines.

If you are putting on new injectors on an old IP you may have issues beacuse I think the experts would recomend replacing the IP with the injectors due to the added pressure required to pop the new injectors it can put a lot of stress on an old pump and cause your injection pump to fail. You might message "typefour" and get his opinion.
Yeah they should be matched, if you do the IP and not the injectors it will wear out the injectors if you do the injectors and not the IP you will wear out the IP. either way you will get opitimum life out of both if you replace them at the same time. At least that is my understanding, maybe the real experts will offer more insight.
Russ FTE mamber: "typefour" can rebuild you some premo injectors I would go that route personally. Last I heard they were getting knida hard to come by new ones.

Normally I would tend to agree but these are for a person that should drive a bicycle from Walmart ... Extreme cheap a$$. I'm just looking to get him going again and politely smile as he complains about everything in the USA and much much more so once again where can I get a cheap set at ?
If you need injectors, you probably need glow plugs, then return lines, IP etc.. I got mine fron Typefour, with return kit. Just haven't installed yet.
