So I sold my 77 a few years ago and I regretted it so much I bought a 79 F150 short bed. I picked it up for cheap cuz the kid literally exploded the rear end in it. So I started the tear down and am finally getting around to posting the pics of it. I do know that the engine has been swapped and was told its a 400. I was planning on going all out and 4 linking the rear end, complete with long travel shocks and custom extended radius arms. But due to time restraints and me transferring to the University of Wyoming this fall, I'm just building it quickly so I can drive it haha. ^This is the 76 parts truck I picked up mostly just for the body. ^ This is the chassis before I went all Eastwood on it ^ Thanks to Eastwood for some awesome chassis black ^ chassis finally all tore down ^ The engine with some fresh paint I have a bunch of goodies for it including Edelbrock intake and carb (the engine better be a 400), Headers, new wires, and new plugs. ^ Just a 4inch super flex lift from BroncoGraveYard ^ rear lift installed with a Ford 9inch swapped back into it. Was going to put a Yukon locker in it but time restraints haha ^ Lift completely installed btw those are 35inch swampers but there going bye bye for some different 35's
@Primered in all I think it was about $1400 to the door at my warehouse it was a little cheaper than the regular super flex cuz the deaver leaf springs were on backorder so those are just JBG regular 4inch lift springs.
@Earthquake68 Thanks! yeah the 76 has a pretty straight body but its a long bed so eventually you guys will see how to chop a long bed into a short haha it might not be pretty but I work in a body shop part time I imagine the guys there will steer me on the right path with it.
So big bummer I was planning on having the engine and transmission installed this weekend but the clutch I got from Napa is wrong, the part # is 1107065. Can anyone shed some light on this? Is this just the wrong one or is this supposed to fit? because none of the holes line up on my flywheel
The 400 clutch has a "3 finger" pressure plate. The 351M has a diaphragm type pressure plate. If you ordered a 400 clutch and it won't fit, you need the 351 clutch. Don't worry about your intake and cam, even if it IS a 351, your parts will bolt up.
@ shadow. Heck yeah I will be moving to Laramie sometime near August
@the1nonlyfordboy. Its had an engine swap from the previous owner, I think he said it was a 400 from a f250 but not sure
@ ibleedblue1385. Thanks I do plan on posting lots of pics ha
@ bigredk8. the chassis was semi stripped with a wire wheel and then prepped with degreaser, and finally painted with Eastwoods rust encapsulator and topped with Eastwoods extreme chassis black. The engine was just painted with some high temp engine enamal from a can haha (I plan on killing this engine and using it as an excuse to rebuild with some T Meyers stuff)
