My 86 needs a new support and I have been searching for quite some time now and have not been able to find one. I was talking to my cousin tonight about it and he gave me the idea to see if a newer body style (87-97 with 460) support would work. Are all the fender mounting bolt holes the same? Will the grille, trim pieces, and light bezels bolt in place? Any suggestions are appreciated.
Do you know of anywhere that sells a good aftermarket support that will not rot out in 2-3 yrs. I would prefer a ford factory support if I can find one.
The correct radiator core support you need will only fit the 1985 - 1986 Ford F-150/250 and Broncos.
The one from 1980 - 1984 is different in that these years used a different style of radiator and mounting system. And like ArdWrknTrk said, the one from 1987 - 1991 won't work because the headlight mounting is different.

Franklin, Thanks, I will give them a call on tuesday and get more details on what they have. The f250 and f350 would be the same if they both have the 460 in them?

The junkyard site listed 3 flavors:
1. The tall diesel support
2. The wide diesel support
3. All gas supports.
So according to them, any gas engine support will work, f150, f250. f350, and probably Bronco, so long as it is a 85 through 86 and has a gasoline engine.
Franklin, My cousin has an 83 f250 351w and the rad opening on his support is about 6-8" narrower. I would think that ford would have done this since the small block and 6cyl trucks wouldn't need such a big radiator.
I'm really kicking myself now because I had gotten an 86 f350 2wd diesel parts truck and didn't save the rad support or radiator. I could have made it work. I did save the bell housing, 4spd trans, and a few other parts that I needed. I got the truck mainly for the doors, fenders, and bed. Thats why its blue in my avatar. I paid $250 for it not running.

I called these guys today and they said they have the support for my truck for $150. He said that it has next to no rust on it and is in very good condition.

His truck is not a 85 or 86 correct? I don't know, I am just using the junkyard cross reference.
