The only difference between the core supports is some have the narrow opening, and some have the wider opening. A narrow opening can be made into a wide opening, but the wide opening won't work where a narrow opening one was without adding something to the right side to hold the radiator. Otherwise, the year, or what size truck it came out of doesn't matter. As long as it's for a '73-79. Now, the radiators were different in '73 and 74 on some trucks, but the radiator, as a whole, will bolt onto the other core support. Some radiators on the older ones....not sure what to call them...had stand offs??? that the radiator bolted to. The common way a radiator mounted was it bolted directly to the core support, these older radiators had the mounting flanges on the engine side, and used the "stand offs" to mount the radiator. If you have a radiator like that, make sure you transfer the "stand off's" too.

you might have to drill one hole on top inside . as the 78 rad support does not have it for the square headlights, but no big deal.
