ok i have 2004 super duty 5.4L 4x4. i posted a thread some months ago about my obd scanner not connecting to pickup. still having the issue. happened to have the truck at the ford house the other day and they couldnt connect to it either. cigarette lighter is working, the picture of engine light appears on the dash when you turn on the ignition. any suggestions as to what else to try?
Check your terminals at the Data Link connector, make sure none of the terminals are spread causing a loose connection, seen this on several occasions.
Use your scanner terminal as a reference of the size pin you need and ck. for a slight drag at each terminal. You want to be carefull not to use something to large and cause damage to the terminal. Possible straight pin, paper clip etc. Ck your voltages at the DLC , top row 1-8, bottom row 9-16. SCP bus terminals to ground if I remember correctly between 2.5-3.5 volts with the key on.
