2000 7.3 WONT START
IT TRIES TO START BUT THEN JUST DIES. I PUT MY HAND ON THE FUEL PUMP UNDER THE TRUCK WHEN SOMEBODY TURNS IT ON AND I CAN FEEL IT CLICK BUT NOT RUN. SHOULD IT COME ON AND RUN FOR A SHORT TIME? NOT SURE WHAT ELSE TO CHECK. IVE TRIED THE SEARCH FUNCTION BUT AM NOT HAVING ANY LUCK. THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR THE HELP.

The fuel pump should run for about 20 seconds with the key on and engine not running. Here's a quick way to check it:
Locate the drain tube coming from your fuel water separator drain (it's on the front of the engine, above the front axle.) Add a short length of hose to the drain tube and run it into a bucket. Open the fuel drain (yellow handle located on the rear of the fuel filter bowl). When the key is turned on you should see a good stream of fuel flowing into the bucket (about 1 gpm).
Don't know if it will solve your problem, but its a quick test to see if the fuel pump is running.
