I ran my psd out of fuel I changed the fuel filter and got it running but now it will only run for a few minutes the bang shuts down wait a few minutes and it will run. Any advice? thanks
How much fuel did you put in the tank and is it sitting on level ground. If you only put in a few gallons and truck is not level the fuel may not reach center of tank where fuel pick-up is. Is the fuell bowl filling. You can check by opening drain. I usually get about 8 oz. of fuel when I drain the bowl. With valve open and key on you should get a good flow out of the drain tube. Since it will start and then die the engine may be using more fuel than it is being supplied. If not you may have sucked something into the pump. If you are getting fuel then it may only be a lot of air in the system. Hopefully others will chime in with more suggestions and trouble shooting tips.

Did you purge the line before restarting? It could have some air in it. Try this, open the fuel bowl water drain, and turn the key on, but do not start. Wait for the wait to start light to go off, then turn the key off. Do this twice, close the valve and crank it over and the truck should run, unless of course you did pick up something when you ran it out of fuel. Also, now would be a good time to change the fuel filter as well...
The first question is how much fuel did you put in? I would start the truck up and wait for it to die again. If it does stall, turn the key off and remove the lid on the fuel filter. If the fuel bowl is not full we'll figure out why. If it is full, then try starting it again but run it at an elevated idle.
