You're probably wondering why after 2.5 hours, nobody is responding to your thread, so I'm going to do you the courtesy of telling you why.

Because nobody, including me, has a clue what the hell you are saying!!!

Your thread looks like something you text your 16 year old buddy!!!

I've read it 3 times and all I can figure out is that your carb is leaking. If that's it then fix the leaks. Other than that I haven't got a clue what you're asking.

I agree with 82f100460.
I see that this is the first day you've posted on FTE. We have a bunch of really knowledgeable technicians, engineers, etc. More than a few of us have kids older than these trucks. We don't do textese.

We're not English teachers, but we're not going to spend a lot of time trying to figure out what you're trying to say, if you're not willing to spend the time writing it in a form that we can read easily. Capitalization, punctuation, and spelling are important. Your posts don't have to be perfect, but you at least have to try. If you want a response, write it out in a cogent manner. A blank line between paragraphs would also be appreciated.

Why don't you rewrite your message in a form readable by adults. Perhaps then, maybe a few of our members will take the time to read it and respond.

What they said. I'm subscribed to see if there's a good, understandable, clear explanation of the problem.

I will admit that I read the post once and was ready to drop it and go back to see if anyone else had a problem that I could understand. But, then I realized that 3 very savvy guys had posted that they couldn't understand it either, so I thought I'd hang around to see what explanation we get.

OP- as said you won't get far here without information. I know these guys pretty well, they're no english majors haha.

But- here's the problem. These trucks are 30yrs old. When new they had a ridiculous amount of options. One of our moderators posted a parts catalog the other day. There were 54, fifty four!, possible air intake hose setups. Then you add on the variations in engine and emissions setups. And on top of that it's a ford, so any of the poor backyard work in the last 30yrs could have involved swapping parts from an older or newer generation truck. We could talk all night and not solve your issue, maybe not even figure out what it actually is. I can think of a dozen or more places where I carb could be leaking.

Where exactly is it leaking, what engine do you have.

Maybe he really is a 16 year old kid. I have a 15 year old granddaughter (the one helping work on my truck). She will catch me on FB and will send some of the strangest chat messages. I got on her case, and explained if she wants to use textese to her friends from her phone, fine, when she is chatting with me practice, spelling, punctuation and capitalization. She got a little upset, till I told her it was to keep her in practice for school.

I've seen the pictures of your granddaughter helping you out on your truck Bill....I think it's very impressive to see that generation, especially a girl, that interested in learning how to fix things themselves. No matter if it's a truck or painting the trim on your house....good to know how to do stuff on your own. I'm sure you're very proud of her .

Like you said....talk your talk when you're in that crowd. But when the time comes, you need to be able to communicate semi-professionally if you eventually want to be part of the adult world. Unless of course you're gonna be a rapper...then I guess it don't matter

Sounds like a float sticking and overfilling/pressurizing the carburetor.

Well, it was his 3rd post on here. So I'm willing to give him a few more chances. Hate to run someone off that needs help, but can't/won't take my time to play guessing games with what someone says.

I agree...come on back with a good write-up...and we'll get it fixed!!

Also agree with above, that it "seems" like it a simply float level fix.
