Timing

Ok I am new to having a real engine (no computer). So this a new learning curve for me. I am used to working with a engine that has a computer and controls everything. So to my question do I need a timing pointer to be able to get the timing correct of course with a timing light.

Yes, you need a timer pointer otherwise you will not know where to line the mark up on the balancer, which factory calls for 8 degrees. I run mine around 11 or 12 because I installed an HEI dizzy which is outstanding and well worth the money.

Thanks man I wanted to make sure. I found that factory setting was between 6-8.
