Hi guys, I am usually on 6.0 site and don't know much about a 5.4 gasser, hope to get some tech help. My buddy was driving to my house yesterday and his 06 F-150 with a 5.4 liter just shut off while driving. He got it restarted on first try, all engine vitals normal. I sent him to Advance Auto Parts and they pulled codes; P-2112 and P-2104 and throttle actuactor stuck closed. Engine is running fine and he has driven it about 100 miles since yesterday with no problems. 06 F-150 5.4 liter 58,000 miles. Any help wouls be greatly appreciated.
Did your buddy resently reset the ecu. New battery or service that would require disconnecting the power. I had mine stall?? after i did plugs and removed the battery. Did it rolling up to a red light. No warning and never did it again that was 40k ago. It did not throw any codes. Good Luck!
When throttle body internals are filthy there is a difference in the signal to the PCM. If out of tolerence the PCM will shut down. Removing the throttle body and cleaning it with throttle body spray cleaner may work or you may need a new throttle body. Also check connectors.
