I have a question. My 2006 F-150 super crew 5.4 has a issue. I can be driving down the road and then the truck goes to idle and no control with the gas peddel. I get a engine light as well as a wrench. If I shut the truck all the way off I can restart it sometimes one try sometimes more. Not good in traffic. this has happend 20-30 times and I have changed the TPS with no change. Anyone know what to do???
2 of the codes I got are
P2104- TAC system forced idle
P2112- TAC system stuck closed
Changing the TPS did not seem to fix this issue could it be the ECM?
It is of no extra help than before it showed.
The TAC ( throttle actuator control, IE; throttle body ) is malfunctioning.
Get it fixed ( cleaned ) or
Replace the throttle body.
You have the solution in front of you.
Shorebird should I clean it with carb cleaner or is there something better? I will try and clean it before I buy a new one. Do you have an idea if I need to buy a new one where would be a good place?
