Haha I know what ya mean, sometimes it feels like I don't know what to do with my hands when driving an automatic.

You're definitely right about money being hard to come by when you're in highschool. I just bought my '78 F250 for $500 last September. It was a farm truck all its life and its gone through almost 6-7 different owners that I can find from the paperwork. I guess $500 was pretty good for it, considering it has a stock 351W and a C6 with a Dana 60 rear-end. The truck's the stock Ranger XLT right now, hopefully when I get some money i can put some decent exhaust on it. (The original system rotted and fell off)

My truck actually came with the original manual plus a Haynes one. Also came with inspection papers from the 80s. Hopefully I can get some of my work done at my schools garage.

Also, do any of you know someone with a steering wheel that would fit the truck?

Most of the wheels you can buy have a pushy thingy for a horn and you just put the wires in the horn.

Nice truck JD! I am currently restoring a 76 short bed. I know what you mean about the money thing. Just keep her going and enjoy. I picked up my first dentside when I was 19, a 1978 4x4 shortbed, out of high school but still no money. Had it for 12 years before i had to let her go so we could buy a house. Now I am finally able to restore my 76 and am very happy. I have to say I loved my truck as it was even though it was rusty and dented. Still my favorite vehicle I have ever owned. I picked my wife up in it and we have been married for 12 years

Here is a link to my build thread if interested - 76 F-100
