I used one of those Harbor Freight kits on mine without any success cause the polish they give you is too fine to cut the haze. However.... I used their drill adapter and sponge thing with some standard tooth paste and it cleaned them beautifully!! They have been clear for over a year now without any complaints

I was gonna try this.. but it didnt make sense since they were gonna get cracked or scratched..

I do have a question on the topic. If you were to clean the headlights and do the sanding part, could you apply a layer of clear coat to prevent cracking from road debris? Or would that distort the light too much?

I had that in mind too.. Clear coat would burn off a little bit.. maybe

I used standard Crest toothpaste. Not the gel type. I did however cut of the 3 or 4 "nubs" that stick out off the lens. They get in the way . I used side cutters to nip them of, then a razor blade to get them as close as I could then sanded them smooth. The kit comes with a fine grit sandpaper for the initial step, then go to the toothpaste.
