Trying to decide between these 2 vehicles the 03 nav has 119k with most of the goodies. The 04 expy has 130k and is an Eddie Bauer and nicely loaded - only $500 difference between them. Opinions and thoughts for which I should chose???
The nav is an ultimate with about everything available that year - both have 5.4 and 4 wheel drive. I think the expy does not have the air ride but does have many of the features shy of DVD, nav, and I am sure a few other items ( just not sure which exactly)
At this point, not having the air ride is a benefit. Any service history on either of them? You should look for plug and COP changes with that ind of mileage as well as oil change intervals and tranny services.
I love my air ride in my 98 nav. I had choice between 01 expy and 98 nav. I picked the navigator. I love the self leveling for pulling trailers. And its really smooth ride. But mine had brand new tranny, new bags, compressor and dosnt drip a drop. Has 203k but supposbly new motor. Looks clean and well takin care of. So who knows. I only paid 4k. And its 4x4 fully loaded.
Navigator more sound dept material more controls on steering wheel, Looks nice 300hp, LED interior lights, power lifting rear gate, Anymore info needed to get the Navi over the Expy?
Fold flat came along with the independant rear suspension in 2003 for both vehicles. Depending on options, the '04 will have power. Worst case it is a manual fold flat. I've got one of each, power is easier but manual isn't that big of a deal for me. It could be for someone who can't hop in and pull the releases though.
All things equal and no service records I'd stay away from the air ride because at this point it is getting into the time frame when it will need work. If that doesn't bother you, then it is a non issue.
