diesel problem
The truck starts and runs fine, but billows smoke like a steel factory. You'd think my shop was on fire after running it for a few seconds. Its a constant white/greyish smoke. Once the engine is warm it smokes less, but still billowing constant smoke.
The problem developed overnight, not over time. Since it started I've replaced the glow plugs, the fuel return lines (between injectors, filter, and IP. Not back to the tanks yet.) Cleared the injector lines, pulled the injectors looking for defects (no equipment to run a pop test). I cleaned off a bit of carbon from the injectors, but they looked fine. I haven't noticed a loss in coolant or oil yet.
I'm looking for some suggestions before I pull the heads, because that's the last place I can think to look for the problem. I'm thinking head gasket or valve seals, but want to eliminate anything else before I pull off the heads.

A bad injector can cause white smoke. How many miles on the injectors & pump?
In any event, I'd do a compression test before pulling the heads...
