My wife refuses to drive my truck because it's "too big." When she mentions something about buying parts for it my typical response is... "my truck is payed for, how much is the monthly loan payment for your Edge (2011)?"
For the most part she is pretty understanding though and she likes that I can do all my own wrenching, so that saves a lot of money.
At my house, it's the other way around.... I have to explain and "try" to convince my husband to let me spend the $$ on my truck! He just doesn't get it! He loves driving it, but has not clue about the upkeep and maintenance.
It's interesting to see women respond to this thread.
And yes, I love BIG B(.)(.)BIES. I think by now, all of you are well aware of that. If I ever venture to your necks of the woods, I want to see a whole bunch of them.

Wish I could say that. But it's the other way around. Her 04 Yukon is paid for an mine is 500$ a month.
She doesn't say to much about me spending money on my truck because it mostly gets used to pull the 30' camper SHE picked out for us. An I also reminded her that this truck will be our daughters first vehicle when she turns 16.
Glad I got 7 1/2 more years before than day gets here.
My wife has wrecked 2 suburbans, my 250 cargo van, a minni van, a ford probe (NO loss there), a toyota camery, My Dodge 1500, and 2 ford Focuses. ALL HER FAULT In the 13 years Ive known her (im sure ive missed one ) HELL NO NO NO shes not driving my truck.

LMAO !!!!!!!!
With a track record like that. I wouldn't let her drive the lawnmower, much less my truck. I would be afraid she would run into the house.

Probe guardrail = learned seatbelts should be used
1 suburban = pole in drive thru
2 suburban = slid off road frontend damage, road dry stopped hard enough to crack the plastic on the dash cluster
work van = avoided car, hit sewer inlet tire tie rod and steel wheel (vans fault)
minni van same as above (the one I forgot, might be another who can remember)
minni van = rear ended 2010 1/2 silverado totaled both (less than 20mph chevys frame bent, POS)
camery = rear ended a guy on the way to rehab for his new hip, he never filed a claim. Shes good looking and cried. Never works for me.
Dodge 1500 = yellow pole at the bank drive thru, THE ENTIRE BOX you would think it would have made some noise. look great on the black paint.
1 focus = tested the effects of reciever hitch thru the radiator. (while parking)
2 focus = Car or the stop sign? Ya stop was better "but I wasnt speeding" The concept of driving to fast for conditions aludes her. Of all these we only claimed 2 on insurance. She not even a blonde I so dont get it.

Me thinks either she needs to 1 use a cab service, 2 ride a bike or 3 Abrams tank.....jk.....
Maybe some driving lessons would help. My wife is a good driver Thank God. A farm girl who learned from her dad. Every time she got something stuck or in a bad place her dad made her figure it out, including getting his backhoe stuck once.
I don't have to worry when she is on the road.
