My 65 with the com trans, has anyone removed the cooling box and run steel lines to the radiator? I think it might be cleaner than heater hoses going underneath the vehicle. Also saw a 3rd line on this trans that just hung in the wind any thoughts on that? Thanks guys, John
I have a 64 with the com my cooler rusted out from the water used to cool it so I did run it to the radiator and also added a trans cooler it works great and looks better also I don't understand why they decided to cool the trans with hot water good luck
My '65 looks to have had a radiator with an internal trans cooler, because the tube is flared with a nut behind the flare for the connection. Someone added a trans cooler to the front of the radiator and ran hoses from the steel lines. I'm not certain what the stock configuration should be. The tubing is just a loop for cooling the trans fluid, so the 3rd line may be a vacuum line from the intake manifold to the trans modulator, which is a steel line as well. Good luck.
