Radius Arm

I am bolting the 79 suspension in my 65. I bought radius arm bushings for a 79 since this the new came from a 79. I can't get enough room to start the nut if I use the washer but I am close enough to start the nut with the washer. Any idea on how to squeeze it a bit tighter or should I have used bushings from a 65?

The bushings should be the same. I had the same problem when I did my disc brake conversion. Even with a helper, I couldn't get it started. I found it much easier to unbolt the radius arm from the I-beam. Then you can get the nut started easily. It will be easy for you to pull the i-beam back into position on the radius arm.

Got it! I used a c-clamp and pulled it back.
