so i went and hooked the tank back up on my idi i was runing out of a gas can for test perpois and i find out that my new lift pump has died all ready and its not even a week old
a lot of folks seem to have the same results Joe.your apparently not alone.
swap over to the duralift e-pump and ditch the old school engine pulling system for a pump that will outlast the truck and be self priming to boot.
these Chinese replacement parts shouldn't even be sold in the first place.just not worth putting on a vehicle.who wants to drive a ford truck primarily made in China with replacement parts? can't trust the thing for anything,so it becomes worthless lol.
if i were to stick with the stock lift pump (yeah right lol) seriously,id replace it with a used oem, regardless of miles.
FORDF250XLT is absolutely right about you not being alone. At least you isolated the problem, same thing happened to me on my F-350, the pump had maybe 10 miles on it... I had just finished doing injectors and fixing all the fuel feed and return line leaks and could not get a drop of fuel at the filter head... Did not want to believe it was the fuel pump I put in just a week ago, but there wasn't much else it could have been. Went back to the parts store and exchanged it under warranty, truck fired right up...
Also for a good lift pump, i've heard alot of good results from Carter pumps. That's what I replaced the original one on my camper 2 years ago, still going great!
