Can the IPR be removed with everything back together(turbo, etc.)?
Yes, You'll need a swivel and LONG and I do mean LONG extension. Remove the FICM and rear FICM mounting bracket, as well as the coolant degas bottle bolts. With the LONG extension and swivel you should be able to get in their to the IPR valve, leaving the turbo intact.
Sorry forgot to update.
I was dispatched with my first RV delivery to Virginia the next day.
Truck is running great with the Old IPR. I think it is still on its way out and I have the new one with me so i can change it out one the road if I have to. Want to get the heat shields before I install it.
I do have a small up pipe leak from the EGR cooler gasket apparently falling out when I was installing the band clamp. Would not have known if it hadn't fallen on me when i was re-tightening my exhaust to up pipe bold flanges.
Will see if i can still it back in there with the turbo on when I get the time.
thanks for the thread update it really helps folks out
there are countless threads that someone has went the rounds to troubleshoot checking things that were recomended here then they get there truck going again and never hear Back the final conclusion and then the next guy with similair problems reads threw all of it to be left hanging in the end

So thanks for the update Reps Given
I'm guessing it only leaks when it is cold. I get exhaust under the hood when I first start it cold. As the metal expands I'm guessing the gap gets closed off.
OK so I'm looking at the egr cooler to up-pipe connection and getting ready to try to make this happen without taking out the turbo and I just have one quick question:
Do the exhaust manifolds to up-pipe connections have similar metal gaskets?
I would hate to get all the way in there and find that the gasket actually came from somewhere else.
