I posted previosuly about my 05 6.0 not starting at all (it does have electrical power), anyway after getting it towed to the dealership (a 3.5hrs process...for a 5 miles drive, first AAA didn't log the call, 2nd they came with a normal truck, 3rd the flatbed had issues....) they said the ICP sensor was bad and had to order the parts?
would this be enough to cause the truck not to start? just wondering...
Yes, a bad ICP can cause a no start condition. If the ICP is not seeing the proper pressure it will not allow the injectors to fire. I had this happen to my late '04, but fortunately I was able to easily unplug the sensor which caused the PCM to use a default setting. This kept me from being stranded on the side of the road and allowed me to use my truck until I had a chance to get a new sensor...
Thats really odd for a Ford dealer not to have a ICP sensor for a 6.0, lol. Our parts dept. doesnt hardley keep nothing instock but we keep all the 6.0 stuff, turbos, injectors, EGRs ERG coolers, oil coolers etc etc........ but yes ICP will keep one from starting. Most of the time its something else like a HHP fitting or IPR. Sometimes Dummy plugs in the oil rails could also cause no start
well... we leave in Sillicon Valley California (Santa Clara to be exact) not really diesel truck country...so they might not stock a lot of diesel parts
