I replaced mine one time, it lasted 2 weeks.
It also costs more than the clutch rod replacement fix.
Or damn close.
And this was on my f150, not my PSD.
Which means, less stress on that part cause of smaller PP.

Second cheap alternative, your friend might "bite" on this - 7/16" drill stop collar on the ball, where it sticks through the eyelet. You have to cut the four tabs of the craptastic plastic bushing. Variant - replace the plastic bushing with a piece of brass tubing, 1/2"OD x 7/16"ID.
