Hi everyone I have a 80 f150 and a 81 bronco and was wondering if 1 will tilt steering from bronco fit non tilt f150 and if so how deep do i have to dig into the steering and 2 will a/c go in as well , have all parts on bronco including dash. I wouldnt bother with the a/c but my ms bothers me in the heat and I would just as soon enjoy my touring if you now what i mean. Thanks for any input.
I'm having a brain freeze - I can't remember what the Bronco was called (like the pickups were FXXX). Tried looking the tilt wheel up in the parts catalog but don't see the Bronco. What did they call the Bronco?
Installing factory AC on a truck that never had it can be done but you'll need to swap out the entire dash and the HVAC system, you'll need the AC-specific wiring, the engine controls related to AC, and, of course, all the AC plumbing & mounting brackets & pulleys & whatnot.
1980 is a one-year wonder (especially concerning the wiring) and I don't know how involved this will be from a wiring perspective.

Thank you! I've Googled it, read and re-read and couldn't seem to find it. Now I know. Wait - what did I know????
I think they are all the same from certain yrs. You can use one out of an F 150,250,350 as long as it is the same style for period. I have a tilt wheel with speed control out of an F 150 in my 87 Bronco. Maybe before the 77-79 run the Broncos were different, but, from 77-96 the Broncos had a lot of the same parts as the pick ups.
truck is a no option truck while the bronco has cruise tilt ac factory fog lamps roll bar rear heat trailer pack and tint, plus a couple of other dodads
All of that stuff should swap over. Man you are going to have to pull everything A/C related all the way down to the vacuum lines and controls. The column is easy money. I suppose you will have to get all the cruise goodies out from under the hood also. The servo and control cables as well as the mounting bracket for the throttle linkage
Be sure to disconnect the shift indiacator cable immediately. That thing is like a piece of thread and if it breaks you have to buy another shift indicator to get the control cable. The plastic parts it is attached to inside the indicator are very fragile also.
I wanted to hook up the cruise control as well but dont know if i can being id like to go to a four barrel but thats another post. im just trying to get as much as I can of the bronco before i scrap it as i bought it from my mom and i lost her to cancer a few years ago, keep sakes kinda i guess. Thanks ya all maybe with your help i might acually get this thing on the road.
Whatever 4 bbl you go to should have an adapter kit for the linkage. I know Edelbrock and Holley do. Those are the biggest names in the business now days.
Thanks, I was wondering about that whole cruise control thing in the back of mind, it would be neat to have. I was thinking about the avenger series set up on a weiand manifold. I would like to follow a build similar to the one on this site High Performance Options for the 351M/400 Engine .: Articles with the bigger cam but thats project motor and im still on project interior. Anyone know anything about equus gauges.
