So ive ran into a few small problems with my Crew cab and iw as wondering if you guys could give me some input.
1) lights flicker (lose/bad ground?)
2) likes to continue to run after i shut igniton off (dieseling)
3) seems like when i left of the gas it surges a little bit
1. Which lights? Headlight or everything? Reseat the plug at the switch. If it still does it, the light switch could be on its last legs. Consider replacing it.
2. Needs a tune up and carb adjustment/rebuild. If it is dieseling then there is still fuel in the cylinders/intake trying to light off.
3. Check the return springs. Carb adjustment/rebuild.

all lights flicker
it only seems to surge in 4th gear and earlier after i took it down the road for about 15 mins it started idleing really high at the stop sign i tryed pulling the gas pedal back and nothing and nothing when i gave it a bit more gas.
Reseat the headlight switch and check the main power lead (thick black wire with a yellow trace) connected to the hot side of the starter solenoid. Check for abraided or cut wiring.
Sounds like something may be hanging up in the carb.. does it have a return spring? Look down the carb and check if the throttle plates (aka butterflies) are hanging up in the holes. It could also be hanging up due to a warped carb base. The only way to really check that is to remove the carb to see if the primaries (and secondaries if 4 bbl) have shiny spots where the butterflies are making contact.
Wiggle the throttle shaft to check for play. Significant play could result in unmetered air entering the carb/intake which, in turn, makes it draw more fuel and idle higher.
