hey everyone i have an 84 f-150 with the 300 i6 and 3 speed transmission on the column. my "colomn collar" snapped off. how should i proceed to try and replace it. i figure you have to pull the wheel off but after that i cant figure out how to remove lock cylinder or anything else. is this something i should take to the dealer or what? i do have some mechanical training but never had to deal woth anything like this on an older truck like this.
Thank you for any input or assistance.

If you're going to be disassembling several things (steering wheel, key lock cylinder, turn signal switch, etc....) I would recommend getting a simply Haynes or Chilton Manual. It walks you though all of this and then you'll have it for future use as well.
to remove the key lock.....take it to run and insert a drill bit (or something small) into the hole by the cylinder...it should come out at that point.
