Jumping in here on the header topic, getting ready for a 460 install,i sort of like the fender exit style ,so would an out board header be the way to go,do i have to modify my fender apron,Im not sure on all that yet,I am also installing the 78/79 4 bolt power steering box,and have to see where that lies before making header decision.Any input>thanks oh its a 75 highboy frame, with a 79 cab, that will end up looking like a 75 cab
Well maybe not so much depends on what you want. Fender exits are cool but personally on my rig I would have so many issues from cab mounts, side frame mounted steps and side aux fuel tank in box. It would be a real chore.
I'm in the process of making 2" primary tri Y 3.5" collector stainless 304 headers. Pretty blingtastic. I won't be going fender exits though.
hey 73 ford Guy how did those steering arms work out?NWF
O yeah you PM'd me bout that. They worked out great! I put on the high steer one now too. Removed the kingpin spring that went into the scrap pile and basically gave the threaded nut for preload a light frap with my 1/2 drive electric impact and drove it. Drives great.
Also made 2'' Dom, 3/8 wall tie rod and drag link. Hella beef!!
used my old 1, 1/4 draglink that had 8'' section fit into ends welded in the slot plug welds and ends. I welded them up a few days ago. Just gotta relocate the hydroassist ram to the top of diff and remove old tie rod.
