72 fix what was wrong
I bought a cool 72 back a couple of years ago, had a Fatman's front end installed and IRS from a Mark VIII, the motor was warmed over, which I saw paperwork confirming what was done from a machine shop. It took me some time to realize a lot of this work was installing incorrectly.
Checked the Fatman's install and that was put in correctly, swaybar wasn't as it was hitting the rod ends, also the rack was shot, so that was an easy fit, the big thing was why were the inner fenders cut out? The previous owner said it looked cool....Not! Looks like when the suspension was maxed out the tires hit the inner fenders.

Sent the inner fenders out to body shop for finishing and paint. I was going to weld the tubs in but the body guy said he would use panel bond to do the job. This stuff is super strong and holds forever. Also repainted the block changed alt bracket and new power steering pump brackets, also new MSD Distributor, hey it's only money!
Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
Thanks for the positive input guys, f100 today I agree with you and if I could start again I would just start with a clean stock truck. I will post what I had to do to the rear of this truck, which was a major screw up by the previous owner. Oh yeah replaced water pump too. Just want it right and no worries in the future. Now for the hard stuff complete rewire....
Thanks Jefffafa, they look so good people don't even notice them.
The front of the truck wasn't too bad to get right but the rear IRS install took some work. The rear was installed poorly and cross members were cut out so when you pushed the truck at speed in a corner there was a very uneasy loose feeling due to the rails flexing. The welds looked really cold no pen, not to mention the brake line that were not mount and rubbing because they were run through holes in the frame.
I didn't like the shock mounts and there were two different shocks installed by the guy...ugh! Got carried away with stiffing up the rear. Team 321 recommends 1 -2" x 2" square box channel across the rails to do the job, just did something a little different. Also built a skid/cage to help stiffen and protect the rear mounted gas tank. Also found the gas tank was not vented.
