Help. 1985 F150 4.9 19gal side tank. I ordered a fuel sender from LMC, put it in, lasted about a week then quit. Checked wiring & guage with a guage tester all working ok. Called LMC they said they dont have problems with their senders & there is no warranty, wow thanks! pulled tank back out, removed sender bench tested, brass float is 1/4 full of fuel & sender shows 15ohms full then never gets above 20 ohms through range then jumps to 70ohms at empty. Dont really want to get another LMC sender but having a heck of a time finding another one. Does anyone know where to get one that they have had good luck with?
Myself, I've had not real good luck with the Spectra Premium things; they last 2-3 years before they begin to wig out. So, when I can afford it, I want to replace them (I have 3) with OEM variants. Sure, they cost a bunch more, but look how long the originals lasted. You get what you pay for....
