It it true that over diluted oil will ruin your VGT control valve?
IMO deluted oil would Wreak more Havic on other things Main Bearings, lifters, turbo float bearings, injectors ect.. than it would on the VGT valve. But still could be hard on the VGT Valve
the VGT valve just controls oil flow to the piston on one side or the other to control Varible Veins in the turbo
I don't know yet. I kind of suspect though. I'm sending a sample in for analysis from my next oil change.
I thought I had read that in the turbo tech guide but it was in reference to the bearings.
"Note: For 6.0L Powerstroke diesel engines with engine oil diluted with four or more quarts
of fuel, the turbocharger endplay needs to be checked (.001” - .004” allowable). Also
check radial shaft movement by lifting the shaft up and rotating the shaft to check for
compressor or turbine wheel to housing contact. If any wheel contact is noticed, the
turbocharger must be replaced."
