I posted a couple of weeks ago about needing a "replacement vinyl insert" for my '07 F250 dashboard. For an assorted personal reasons I decided to hold on to my truck so I'm trying to restore it to some degree.
Response recommending ebay was dead on. Found a "dash pad" in the same interior color and purchased it. Since receipt, I've been trying to replace. Having a difficult time accessing the screws on the short side of the radio.
1. Am I looking at having to take the radio out to access this area to complete the removal of the old dash pad? Any suggestions to complete this task or suggestions where I may find information on how to complete would be fantastic.
Also, in removing some of the dash items, I noticed a few of the little cushioned clips that are used to clip items on to the dash are old and worn and need to be replaced.
2. I don't know if I explained myself well enough, but I'd like to know where I could purchase some of these little things.
Finally, I removed the seats to give them a good cleaning. In doing so, I noticed that between the bolts and the metal brace, there was some sort of grease or wax. It was pretty old and obvious I need I need to again apply this substance.
3. So, can anyone tell me what this substance is and where I can purchase some?
Thanks and again, and it's obvious I'm new at this, so please excuse my ignorance.
your local auto parts store might have some of those plastic cushions and clips, and a lot of them aren't as non-standard as they appear. you might also try the junkyard, but any you find there will probably be in similar condition to the ones you removed.
That is a good site Chris. Suppliers that sale auto paint and body supplies usually have an enormous selection of these items as well. They probably wouldnt have the electrical plug variety that Chris's site provides, but, would have everything body and trim related in stock. I need to make a trip down there to get some door panel fasteners before I tear into the window motors on the Bronco.
I live in a suburb about 1 block away from Tulsa. I am getting ready to move about 2 miles from Tulsa. The suburb I live in has just about everything and is growing by leaps and bounds.
Gary probably doesnt have a paint and body supply. However, he lives not too far away from Owasso and it is growing rapidly also. They are getting a Sam's Club really soon. He probably wont have to keep coming to town for his needs much longer.
