Yes have your sparkplugs been changed if not that be the first thing you should change.

 

Have not, is that pretty easy on this? I'm not sure but thought I'd heard some horror stories about the Triton an spark plug issues.

 

You should have the codes read to help with the diagnosis, and should change the COPs too.

 

yea i'll just do a total tune up this week and start digging into some of it, would it throw a code if the engine light isn't always on? seems like during two accelerations it would flash and then it went away. other than that none of the lights are on.

 

It should have pending codes stored.

 

I had the same issue on my 97 Expy, it was a misfire code (can't remember the exact code) Changed my plugs and wires and problem solved. Good luck.
