Well I guess I misread or was just told wrong about the clips coming on 02 & 03 trucks. Sorry about that.

Same thing happened when Bill (BillyBob69) and I were working on his truck. He has an E99 and when we tried to insert the quarter into the harnesses, they were so brittle that we broke off the clips. He ended up replacing both harnesses and valve cover gaskets as a result.

Geuss I should consider myself lucky that I only had to replace the harness.

Did you say when you first went in there it had the plastic wedges and they were loose? I wonder if using a heat gun to soften up the plastic clip before inserting the quarter would be a good idea?

No problem bro! I had heard the same thing but when I removed the valve covers to replace the glo plugs there werent any clips so I used the quarters.

Apparently someone had been into the valve cover at some point before I owned the truck (bought the truck with 33000)and put in the 17$ shims.

Might have been in to a dealer for an issue and they can't put quarters in there...

They where only loose after I unplugged the harness.
