i just bought an 81 f-250, the ported vacuum switch is only partially connected. it looks like the previous owner had broken off the top port but the bottom 3 look fine. i was wondering if replacing this will make any diffrence for the engine? will it make any diffrence for gas milage? thanks in advance
Steve83 I hope you don't mind me stalking you . With respect to the ACV on an 86 F150 I6 manual, where should the black and pink vacuum supply lines be connected? There are two supply ports on the ACV I can't see a TAD or TAB embossed on them, nor do I know which is which at the 3 solenoid bank on the rocker cover. I know the two in question have a common vacuum check valve. I thought I could differentiate them by the electrical wiring, but they share the same color scheme. Is it as simple as the order in the vacuum diagram, front to back EGR TAD TAB? I think mine are backwards (previous owner/butcher syndrome).Theoretically, the TAB should be switched at idle to maintain smooth RPMs right?
