radio interfearence from tuner
i have a 1997 f 350 and i recently installed a f5 dptuner on my truck now i get terrable radio reception due to the tuner i have tryed a antenna booster, putting ferrit beads on the tunner cable, wrapping the tunner cable with tin foil and rapping a wire around the tuner cable and grounding that wire all with no succes the truck currently has a pioneer radio in it i have been trying to fix this problem for quite some time now and have run out of ideas any help would be gratly apreciated thanks luke
This has been a hit and miss problem with Moates chips for years. DP-Tuner uses Moates chips obviously.
Does yours have the old style ribbon cable or the newer shielded cable? I'm assuming it's the newer cable.
The only things i would know to try for radio interferance would be the ferrite beads and/or tin foil over the cable and that didn't work for you. You need to call DP-Tuner and ask them for a solution. If no solution comes about, I would bet that you can sell the DP-Tuner and get a custom chip from anyone else that uses the TS style chips and the problem will go away.

I know that I have heard a lot of guys say that re-routing the wire to the switch on the tuner will help the issue. Trying to keep it away from the radio and antenna wiring as much as possible is supposed to really help.

I'm not having any luck finding it either, and the 2 guys I asked never had the issue, so they didn't have the link.
I know its around.
If you post up in that forum, they might have the link for ya.
